The first thing I suppose you begin with is explaining who you are, what you like, ect ect, ect. But here’s the thing, I haven’t got that all worked out yet. There are the obvious, standard things like my name being Kay, my age of 22 roller coaster years, my eyes somewhere on the scale between blue and grey and my gender of female. However the rest of me is all a little undecided, my hair colour flitters between white to golden to chocolate and even to red for 6 rebellious months and a further 3 months of bright orange in the transition back to blonde. My height is a little over 5 foot, although I like to think I’m still growing and my future… well that’s all just one hazy blur. All that I know is fashion excites me, the ability to literally go anywhere, creative freedom that has no limits. I’ve studied the fashion industry in one way or another for 6 years, chopping and changing between design, textiles, promotion, styling, photography, you name it I’ve wanted to do it. I even briefly left fashion behind for pursuit of music and art, before dumbfoundingly returning to fashion like a dog with its tail between its legs, realising there is no divide between any of these subjects. They all work alongside each other in one a glorious collaboration of creative minds. These worlds have always inspired me, whilst at the same time having the ability to shock me to my core. I am in awe of fashion, of art and of music. I’m left stunned when you see that Chanel has spent in the region of £1.4m on a cruise catwalk show, I shudder at the lavishness of it (coming from a family of nothing, the value of money is all too apparent to me) but I also find myself drawn in amazed, filled with absolute astonishment and hope, there are no limits to what this world can do. I want to explore this through my writing and inspire you, just like how fashion inspires me.
